Blur No-Alt

This plugin is designed for content editors and developers who need to improve image accessibility on their websites. It works by applying a visual blur to images within the editing dashboard that are missing descriptive alt text or have placeholder text like a filename, making these issues immediately apparent during the content creation process.

Visual Accessibility Cue: Images without proper alt text or with filenames as alt text are blurred in the editor. This provides a clear, in-context reminder to add descriptions without affecting how the image appears to site visitors.

Editor-Focused Design: The blur effect is applied only within the administrative editing interface. Selecting or hovering over an image temporarily removes the blur, allowing editors to see the image while working on it.

Control for Decorative Images: To prevent unnecessary prompts for purely decorative images, you can add a specific CSS class (noalt) to an image element. This tells the plugin to skip the blur for that particular image.

Configurable Notifications: The plugin includes a settings page where you can toggle an informational message at the top of the editor screen. This helps explain the blurring behavior to new users.

Modern Browser Support: The styling works in modern web browsers. Support for specific complex layouts, like certain media blocks, depends on browser support for advanced CSS features.
