Core Sitemaps

This feature plugin introduced native XML sitemaps into the core of the open-source CMS, making them available to all users without additional plugins. Designed for site owners and developers, it automatically generates sitemaps for public posts, taxonomies, and user archives.

• Native Sitemap Generation: Automatically creates XML sitemaps for all public content types, including posts, pages, categories, tags, and authors. Sitemaps are updated as content changes.

• Extensive Hooks and Filters: Over 30 filters allow deep customization, such as modifying sitemap entries, excluding specific posts or taxonomies, adjusting the maximum URLs per sitemap, and adding optional attributes like lastmod.

• Disable Sitemaps by Object Type: Use built-in filters to disable sitemaps for entire post types, taxonomies, or user archives. For example, exclude the 'page' post type or 'post_tag' taxonomy easily.

• Custom Query Control: Modify underlying queries via dedicated filters to include or exclude specific items. Add custom entries or adjust the URL list with short-circuit filters.

• Stylesheet Customization: Change the appearance of sitemaps in browsers by filtering the XSL stylesheet URL, CSS, or content.
