GS Only PDF Preview

This plugin replaces the standard method for creating preview images from uploaded PDF files. It is designed for site administrators who need reliable PDF thumbnails without specific server dependencies. By interfacing directly with the Ghostscript interpreter, it avoids common issues with color spaces and external library requirements.

• Direct Ghostscript Integration: Uses the Ghostscript command line tool to render the first page of a PDF as a JPEG preview. This bypasses the typical requirement for the PHP Imagick extension.
• Handles Problematic PDFs: Effectively processes PDFs with CMYK color spaces or alpha channels, which often cause broken previews in the default system.
• Regeneration Tools: Includes an admin tool, bulk action, and individual media row action to regenerate previews for existing PDFs if needed.
• Configurable Output: Allows adjustment of the preview resolution and selected page via dedicated filters in your theme's functions file.
• Performance and Security: Executes Ghostscript as a shell command with argument escaping for security. The process is generally faster than the standard method, though speed varies by server environment.
