Network Template Parts

This plugin provides a block for multisite networks that renders reusable page sections, known as template parts, from a specified context. It is designed for network administrators and developers who need to maintain consistent branding and shared components, like headers or footers, across multiple sites while still permitting controlled, site-level customization.

• Network and Site Contexts: The block's context attribute lets you load a template part from the main network site or from the current individual site, giving precise control over where content originates.
• Prevents Accidental Overrides: When a site administrator edits a standard template part, it detaches from the theme and stops receiving updates. This plugin separates network-managed parts from site-managed parts, protecting shared elements from unintended changes.
• Works with Template Editing Restrictions: It is intended to be used alongside features that restrict editing of full-page templates on individual sites. This creates a clear separation: templates define the page structure, while template parts handle editable sections within that structure.
• Hierarchical Part Composition: Template parts can contain other network template part blocks. This allows for complex, nested structures where some sections are network-controlled and others are site-specific, all within a single shared component.
• Theme-Based File Structure: Template parts are stored in the active theme's parts/ directory, maintaining a standard development workflow and allowing updates to be distributed through the theme.
