This plugin is for site administrators and content creators who need to reference archival holdings from the European Holocaust Research Infrastructure (EHRI) portal. It provides a simple method to embed detailed, up-to-date item descriptions directly into articles and pages without manual copying.
- Shortcode Integration: Use the
[ehri-item-data id="ITEM-ID"]shortcode to insert a formatted block of metadata for any record from the EHRI portal. - Live Data Fetching: Descriptions are pulled directly from the EHRI API, ensuring the embedded information reflects the current state of the portal's database.
- Configurable API Endpoint: The base URL for the EHRI API can be adjusted from the site's settings menu, allowing for flexibility if the portal's structure changes.
- Simple Implementation: After installation, embedding a record requires only the item's unique identifier within the shortcode, with no complex configuration needed for basic use.
