Uploads by Proxy: Automatically load production images when missing locally.

This plugin is designed for developers working on local copies of a site. It removes the need to sync the entire uploads directory by automatically serving missing images from the production server.

Automatic Proxy: When an image is requested and not found locally, the plugin fetches it from the production server in real time.
Download or Redirect: Choose to download the file into your local uploads folder or redirect to the production URL for one-time use.
Local-Only Activation: The plugin only runs when it detects a local environment (browser and server IP both 127.0.0.1), preventing accidental use on a live site.
Simple Configuration: Set the production site URL in wp-config.php using UBP_SITEURL. Optionally use UBP_REPLACE for path adjustments and UBP_REDIRECT to skip downloading.
No Database Changes: The plugin works without modifying the database or adding custom tables, keeping your local setup clean.

The source code is available on GitHub, licensed under GPLv2 or later. It works with any standard local development setup (MAMP, WAMP, Local by Flywheel, etc.) and is compatible with multisite installations.
