WordPress Environment Switcher

This plugin adds a visual menu to the admin bar, allowing users to jump between different versions of a site, such as production, staging, and local development. It is designed for developers and site administrators who manage sites across multiple hosting environments and need to switch contexts quickly without manually editing URLs.

• Admin Bar Integration: The switcher appears directly in the WordPress admin interface, providing one-click access to other configured environments without leaving the current page.
• Automatic Environment Detection: It automatically identifies the current environment by reading from hosting providers like Pantheon and WordPress VIP, or falls back to the standard wp_get_environment_type() function.
• Custom Environment Configuration: You can define the list of available environments, their URLs, and custom labels using a filter (wp_environment_switcher_environments), supporting both simple arrays and more detailed associative arrays.
• Flexible Access Control: By default, the switcher is visible to users with the manage_options capability, but this can be modified using the standard capability mapping system to restrict or expand access as needed.
• Current Environment Highlighting: The menu automatically detects and visually highlights the environment you are currently using, preventing confusion and mistaken navigation.
