This announcement details the transition for existing customers of a legacy buy now, pay later (BNPL) service to a new regulated credit product. It is for users who currently have an account and need to understand how their service is changing and what new options are available to them.

From 10 June 2025, the original BNPL product will be renamed humm Classic. Customers will no longer be able to make new purchases with this account but can continue to manage and repay existing balances. The transition introduces a new credit product with distinct features. Higher Credit Limits: The new service offers a maximum credit limit of up to $50,000, significantly higher than typical BNPL offerings. Extended Repayment Terms: Customers can choose repayment plans spread over a period of up to 120 months, providing greater flexibility for larger purchases. Regulated Credit Product: Unlike the previous BNPL service, the new product operates under national credit laws, which includes a formal application process assessing income and expenses. New Application Required: Existing humm Classic customers must submit a new application to use the new service, as it is a separate financial product. Dedicated App and Portal: Account management, including viewing repayment schedules, is handled through a new application and web portal designed for the updated service.
