This plugin adds a block to the editor that displays the carbon footprint of the current page. It is designed for site owners and developers who want to transparently share their site's environmental impact. The data is sourced from the Website Carbon service.
Dynamic Data Fetching: The badge fetches data directly from the Website Carbon API each time a page loads, ensuring the displayed information is current.
Client-Side Caching: Results for a specific page are cached locally in the browser for 24 hours. This balances data freshness with performance by reducing repeated API calls.
Configurable Display: Options allow you to hide the badge's link to the service or change the link to point to the results for a specific test page.
Built with Interactivity API: The block uses this modern API for its reactive behavior, providing a smooth user experience without full page reloads.
Lightweight Integration: Installation involves uploading the plugin and activating it. The block can then be placed on any post or page built with the editor.
