Debug Toolkit

Debug code faster with better error interfaces and variable inspection.

Visit site

Debug Toolkit replaces the default PHP error output with a clear, interactive interface that shows the actual code where the error occurred and links to search Google, DuckDuckGo, and Stack Overflow. It also provides better variable inspection tools so you can stop using var_dump and print_r.

  • Better PHP Error Interface: Powered by Whoops, it displays error messages with clickable call stacks, code context, and environment details like GET/POST data, cookies, and session info.
  • Variable Inspection with VarDumper and Kint: Use vdump() or dump() to see variable values in a structured container. Kint also shows the expression, data type, and memory size.
  • Shorthand Functions: Quickly dump and die with vdd(), dd(), or ddd(). Aliases like vd() and d() save keystrokes during active debugging.
  • Call Stack Tracing: The trace() function shows the execution order leading to a specific point. Combine it with variable inspection using trace_vdump() or trace_dump().
  • Admin Bar Indicator: A "DEBUG ACTIVE" label appears in the admin bar so you know when the plugin is enabled.

This plugin is intended for development environments only. Deactivate and delete it before pushing a site live.
