Master-Detail Tables for wpDataTables

This add-on extends the functionality of a popular data tables plugin by adding interactive master-detail relationships. It is designed for site owners and administrators who need to present large datasets clearly without overwhelming visitors with wide, complex tables. By hiding less critical columns from the main view, it keeps tables clean while providing immediate access to the complete record.

Detail Views on Click: Visitors can see all data for a row by clicking either the row itself or a dedicated button. Details can open in a popup on the same page or on a separate post/page.

Flexible Data Linking: Connect a main 'parent' table to related 'child' tables. You can display a single child record or an entire related dataset in a new table view, establishing one-to-one or one-to-many relationships.

Customizable Templates: Control exactly how details are presented by creating custom page or post templates. Use placeholders to pull in data from any column, whether it's visible in the main table or hidden.

URL Access to Records: When configured to send data via GET parameters, each row's detail view gets a unique, shareable URL. This allows direct access to specific records without navigating through the main table.

Configurable Trigger: Choose whether details open on a row click or a button click. The button's text and style can be customized to match your site's design.
