Newsletter - Geolocation

This addon for the Newsletter plugin automatically detects the geographic location of your subscribers — country, region, and city — using their IP address. It then lets you target specific countries when sending newsletters. This is useful for segmenting audiences by location, sending region-specific offers, or complying with local regulations.

• Automatic geolocation: The background engine processes all active subscribers and assigns them a country, region, and city (when available). Progress is visible on the addon panel.
• Country-based targeting: When composing a newsletter, select one or more countries from a searchable list. Only subscribers in those countries receive the email. If no countries are selected, the filter is not applied.
• Geo data updates: Subscriber location can update when they click a link in an email, ensuring data stays current. Email opens do not trigger updates because tracking images may be fetched via proxies.
• Replaces Reports Geolocation: If you use the Reports extension, install this addon to continue using geolocation features.
• Limitations: Imported subscribers cannot be geolocated because they lack a source IP address. Region and city targeting are planned for a future release.
