Locked Content is a free addon for the Newsletter plugin that hides specific parts of your blog posts from visitors who are not subscribed to your newsletter. It is designed for site owners who want to offer premium content as an incentive for subscription.

  • Shortcode-based locking: Wrap any part of a post with [newsletter_lock]...[/newsletter_lock] to hide it. Non-subscribers see a customizable message or subscription form instead.
  • Category or tag locking: Lock entire categories or tags so all posts in that group are hidden from non-subscribers, showing only the title and replacement message.
  • Customizable replacement message: Configure the text shown to non-subscribers on the Newsletter settings panel. If left empty, a full subscription form is displayed automatically.
  • Automatic unlock for subscribers: When a user confirms their subscription, a cookie tracks their status and unlocks the hidden content. You can also link directly to premium content in welcome emails.
  • Cache-friendly: The extension attempts to block caching for locked pages to ensure subscribers see the unlocked content immediately.
