Newsletter - Subscribe on Comments

This extension adds a newsletter subscription checkbox to the standard comment form, letting visitors opt in to your mailing list when they leave a comment. It is designed for site owners who want to convert engaged readers—those who take time to comment—into subscribers without extra steps.

• Configurable checkbox state: Choose whether the subscription box is checked by default or left unchecked. Pre-checking may increase sign-ups but can lead to unwanted subscriptions, so consider your audience before enabling this option.
• Opt-in mode control: Force single or double opt-in, or follow the general subscription settings. If you receive many fake email addresses in comments, forcing double opt-in helps confirm genuine subscriptions.
• Welcome email toggle: Disable the welcome email when using single opt-in mode to avoid sending multiple notifications if you already have a comment notification system. Note that the welcome email cannot be disabled in double opt-in mode.
• List assignment: Optionally assign new subscribers to one or more mailing lists. This lets you segment highly interactive users for targeted email campaigns.
• Spam comment handling: The subscription is processed only after WordPress and Akismet mark the comment as not spam. If a comment is flagged as spam, the subscription is ignored.
