This plugin provides a structured system for managing and sending email notifications from a content management system. It is designed for developers who need reliable, external email delivery for transactional messages like user registrations or comment notifications, moving beyond the default mail function.

• External Email Service Integration: The core function is to connect the site's mail system to third-party delivery services. It includes built-in adapters for providers like Mandrill and Sendgrid, which offer better deliverability and tracking than standard server mail.
• Programmable Notification API: Developers can create and manage email notifications through a dedicated PHP API. This allows for setting recipients, subjects, HTML bodies, attachments, and carbon copies directly in code.
• Scheduled and Queued Sending: Notifications are not sent immediately. Instead, they are placed in a queue and dispatched by a scheduled task, typically once per hour. This prevents mail sending from slowing down page loads and allows for scheduling emails for future delivery.
