Migration Guide

Switching to GrootMade from another platform? This guide covers common migration scenarios.

From GPL Clubs

If you're coming from another GPL repository:

Step 1: Inventory Current Products

List all themes and plugins you currently use:

  • Product names
  • Current versions
  • Active on which sites

Step 2: Find Equivalents

Search our library for matching products:

  1. Go to library
  2. Search by original product name
  3. Verify it's the same product (check version/features)

Naming Differences

Products are rebranded in our library. Search by functionality if name doesn't match.

Step 3: Replace Update Source

Install the GrootMade connector plugin

Deactivate/remove old platform's plugin

Products will now update through GrootMade

Step 4: Clean Up

  • Remove old platform account (optional)
  • Delete old connector plugins
  • Verify all products updating correctly

From Original Vendors

Migrating from official purchases to GrootMade:

Why Migrate?

  • Consolidate licensing across vendors
  • Reduce costs
  • Centralized update management
  • Bulk operations

Process

  1. Keep originals active until migration complete
  2. Download from GrootMade the same products
  3. Replace via FTP (don't deactivate first to preserve settings)
  4. Verify functionality including any license-dependent features

Feature Limitations

Some vendor-specific features (like official support, SaaS integrations) won't work with forked versions.
